Undergraduate Students Successfully from Gravity Road Co-founder Mark Boyd

Postgraduate Studies students at Angels recently had the opportunity to hear from leading creative industry figure Mark Boyd, Co-founder of the award-winning London-based agency, Gravity Road. 

Founded in 2011, Gravity Road has built a global reputation for blending advertising, entertainment and technology to create culturally impactful campaigns for major brands including Unilever, Uber, Diageo, TikTok and Peloton. Mark’s visit offered students a valuable insight into both the creative industries and the wider world of work. 

In an engaging and witty talk, Mark shared an honest account of his own career journey, reflecting on the experiences that have shaped his path from the early days of his career through to co-founding a pioneering creative agency. He spoke candidly about the challenges he faced along the way, and how resilience, curiosity and determination played a crucial role in helping him progress. 

A key theme of Mark’s talk was what truly matters in today’s increasingly competitive job market. He encouraged students to think beyond traditional pathways, highlighting the importance of creativity, adaptability and standing out from the crowd. Drawing on his experience of working at the highest level of the industry, he offered practical and thought-provoking advice on how young people can begin to build their own distinctive paths. 

Students were particularly inspired by Mark’s emphasis on self-belief and perseverance, and his reminder that career journeys are rarely linear. His reflections reinforced the value of embracing opportunity, remaining open to new experiences and having the confidence to pursue ambitions with purpose. 

We are very grateful to Mark for taking the time to speak with our Postgraduate Studies and for providing such an insightful and motivating perspective. Experiences like this play an important role in preparing our students for life beyond Angels, equipping them with the confidence and mindset to take their next steps.
